What do you want on it? Eventually, your website is a marketing tool. For many businesses, it is the sole source of the business and when it is done right, it can be a major part of yours too. Here is a list of do’s and don’ts when building a website.

Ensure that they are measurable as well. Some goals you should root for are: using the best web builders, increasing the conversion rates, increasing the sales, reducing the overhead, generate more leads, and improve brand awareness.

  1. Plan on becoming an SEO expert

If you want to make the most of SEO, become an SEO expert. It can literally put your business on an autopilot mode, letting you focus on enhancing your business quality. Stay up to date with all SEO updates and news.

  1. Make the most of the open source tools

You can use the CMS but that means that you are simply working with a single company and paying a fortune to boot. Get yourself an open source system that any developer can have access to.

  1. Think about your mobile strategy simultaneously.

Do your due diligence on the percentage of your visitors that are most likely to use mobile device to browse your website. If the percentage is high, consider creating a separate mobile version of your site. You can also build an app. If it is low, ensure that it works on mobile but don’t invest in the mobile version.

Whenever it comes to any business, keep in mind that customers’ first and foremost experience is created by your company website. If it looks simply homemade, they will be suspicious about the reliability of your brand and will not prefer to do any business with you.

Get rid of the mentality that says, “If you build it, they will visit.” Just putting up your website on the web will not give you any visitor.
